Boronia Fire Brigade is looking for new members!

If you live in the Boronia area and would like to become a Volunteer Fire Fighter, visit us on our training night (Every Tuesday 7:30 - 10 pm) for an introduction and further information.

 

 

Recent news from Boronia Fire Brigade:

 

Boronia involvement in Open Cut Mine Fire:

Boronia Pumper 2 was deployed on Friday morning, 13/10/2006 to the open cut coal mine fire in Morwell.

3 Crews in total worked day and night before being release on the next Saturday.

The Coal mine fire was one of several to start on the first Total Fire Ban of the fire season in most areas of Victoria.

New Support:

In June this year the brigade replaced the old Toyota support with a brand new Ford Territory. This new vehicle was completely self funded by the Brigade.

The new light bar and siren were fitted in early August and the support is now operational.

 

Brigade Elections:

The annual meeting in April consisted of the elections for all positions within the brigade.

Boronia Pumper 2:

 

For the past 2 years, Boronia has been funding and developing a prototype light pumper.

This vehicle has been designed to provide pumping capacity into low clearance areas and remote access areas.

 

A 2003 Ford F350 Diesel V8 was selected and has had lockers designed to fit on this vehicle.
